Project Leads manage the project, staff and build relationships with partners

Laura worked at Childline for 12 years, enabling her to gain extensive experience of engaging young people with varying presentations. She then went on to work in a Residential Care Home in Stockport responsible for the day-to-day care of young people, facilitating group activities and key working sessions. Laura really enjoyed working with the young people and found them extremely inspirational and engaging which led to her becoming passionate about getting their voices heard and making positive changes.

Laura believes that every young person in care deserves to be supported by warm and authentic adults, who might not have all the answers and resources but who essentially care.

She feels that the House Project will enable young people leaving care to take ownership of their lives and be part of the decision-making process so they can work towards a more positive future.

Even though Sue is fully in control of this decision-making process - something our young people often are not - the transition has still been discombobulating; letting go of something she enjoys and that has defined her, and moving on to something that will be incredibly rewarding and joyous.
