Market madness!!!!!
Posted 7th August 2023
The Stockport & Tameside House Project took part in the Teenage Market Regional Final finals in Leeds Kirkgate market on Saturday 29th July. It was an early start, and to their credit, they were all up and ready on time! They worked hard transporting all the stock from the car to the market and then did an amazing job of decorating the stall and displaying all the clothes, toys, and homeware stock we had collected. They interacted well with the public and were able to talk to the judges, with confidence, about the concept behind their stall, the House Project and what it has been like for them being in care.
The day was a huge success, and even though we didn’t go through to the finals the young people were highly commended by the judges, and presented with a Community Award!! They worked really hard, made some money to take home and won an award, they absolutely smashed it and we couldn't be prouder!!!!
