STHP Cohort 2 off to a great start!!!!

Posted 10th October 2023

We are pleased to announce that the Stockport & Tameside House Project has started our group session work with our new cohort and we are off to a good start! All the young people made their own way to the base after planning their routes with the support of the House Project Facilitators, and the session saw the young people engage well with each other and the House Project team. There were some great debates and interactions as well as a lot of interesting ideas put forward around the base rules and identity of their House Project, it was great to see them start to take ownership!!!

The team laid on snacks and toasties for all the young people, which they seemed to really enjoy and we are looking forward to them getting creative with food ideas that they can use for our up-and-coming cook-and-share evening! It has been a really positive start and the team is really excited with the size of the group and the potential work that can be done in order to set the young people up for success!!

We will keep you updated with all cohort 2 news so watch this space.........................................!!!

This reality was brought home to us recently with Sue’s decision to swap her working life at NHP for retirement caring for her new granddaughter two days a week. Even though Sue is fully in control of this decision-making process - something our young people often are not - the transition has still been discombobulating; letting go of something she enjoys and that has defined her, and moving on to something that will be incredibly rewarding and joyous.
